Extend Your Life in the Land of People with Long Life

Lerik city is located very high up on the hills of the Talysh Mountains and it is one of the most beautiful places in Azerbaijan. The Talysh people who are one of the ethnic groups in the Caucus region live here. Lerik is very good for tourists who want to get away from the city, breathe clean mountain air and enjoy the great mountains, the rivers and the waterfalls. Lerik is known with its people who live long lives and this is no surprise. Here is the Museum of Long Living People, which is maybe unique in the world. There are documents on many people who lived until they were over one hundred years of age in this museum. The oldest person in Lerik was Şirali Muslimov who was 168 when he died in 1973. Today tens of people live here who are over a hundred and who can still work. The oldest person in Azerbaijan also lives in Lerik who is 115 and has 8 children, 80 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
