Shurakend Mountain-Ski Center
This region has for centuries served as the exit from the north-east Azerbaijan to Europe and to the Middle East. Here in the shade of the Caucus Mountains hides a great beauty. Old ice caps, deep valleys, magnificent mountain lakes and canyons, a rich diversity of animals and plants are all in Shurakend. In Shurakend the temperature drops to -20ºC on cold winter days and it rises up to +20ºC on summer evenings. The conditions are very good for sports throughout the year with this climate. The largest mountain ski center and one of the largest National Parks in the world are located here.
