2016 Turkish World Cultural Capital: Shaki/Azerbaijan

Shaki was unanimously elected as the Turkish World Cultural Capital in the meeting held in the 2015 Turkish World Cultural Capital Merv by all participants to that meeting as the 2016 Turkish World Cultural Capital. The city, known as the pearl of the Caucasus, has been the meeting point of artists and scientists from different fields of activity throughout the year.
